Projection

data projector

You might feel quite keen to get rid of your laptop and use a PDA to connect to a projector. After all, the size and weight of a PDA is quite appealing however you might not be able to get rid of the cabling completely.

These 3 suggestions offer ways to connect a PDA to a projector:

  1. Connect the devices using cables and connectors.
  2. Connect PDA to Bluetooth wireless projector e.g. HP or Panasonic.
  3. Use Secure Digital (SD) Memory card from PDA into slot in data projector eg Panasonic
    • First check what version of display software you might have on the device. Many PDAs have no version of PowerPoint and therefore need software like Clearvue suite or Pocket Slideshow to be able to receive and then display presentations. Some devices cannot interpret animation so fancy presentations lose the desired effect once projected via a PDA.  If your device has PowerPoint Mobile then animation is maintained on screen and during projection.

“The PDAs can also be used with television sets (even older models). All that is required is a data projector lead. The benefit for the WEA is that most tutors have access to a TV in the venues in which they teach”
